Onion Planting Party March 23rd, 2013

It's onion planting time again at RichCrest Farms!
We will be holding our annual onion planting party on the 23rd of March 2013.
Please make plans on spending the day with us on our beautiful farm helping us plant our onion crop. Clean air, fresh water, great food, fun and a chance to get your hands dirty in the fertile soil await you!

We have been growing dent corn the past three years so that we can make our own corn meal. It is a lot of work from start to finish but with most of the corn in the USA being genetically modified now, growing and processing it yourself is well worth the effort.

Annual Garlic Festival July 28th and 29th, 2012

The annual Garlic Festival will again be held at the beautiful Triangle T Guest Ranch on July the 28th and 29th, 2012 located 1/4 mile off of Interstate 10 (exit 318) on Dragoon Road between Benson and Willcox, AZ.
Come on out to enjoy a fun filled weekend that will include live music, open bar, food and craft vendors, cooking contests, kids activities, horse back riding and events for raising funds for local charities.
Don't forget the Garlic, there will be many different varieties for sale to include Giant Roasted Elephant Garlic!

Amaranth Harvest Party

Our Amaranth harvest party on Aug. 2nd was a huge success. Not only did we get alot of wild Amaranth harvested but we also got all of our veggies harvested in record time. We had a nice family of five join us from the Tucson,AZ. area as well as a few local folks that live near our farm. We were also blessed by recieving help from a group of African refugees coordinated by Iskashitaa Refugee Harvesting Network in Tucson,AZ. www.fruitmappers.org All together we had about 35 people helping out with 20 of those being the African group. After the work was done we all had a fantastic meal that was prepared by a professional chief (Kishor) that was part of the African group. Kishor and some helpers literally took over our kitchen and cooked up a storm preparing all sorts of delicious dishes. It was a real treat to have this great help in the kitchen for we generally do all the cooking for these events. Our sincere thanks go out to all who helped us with the harvest, it was a very special event. Please see pictures below.
